Besan Ka Chilla (or) Vegetarian Omelette



Besan Ka Chilla also known as vegetarian omelette is prepared from besan and should be consumed hot. It is very easy to prepare and do not require more of your time. This recipe requires very few ingredients which are readily available in the market.

Ingredients:

1. Besan – 1 cup
2. Onion – 1 
3.  Tomatoes – 1 
4.   Green Chillies – 2-3
5.  
Coriander Leaves – few
6.    Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
7.   
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
8.    
Ajwain – few
9.    
Salt – as per taste
10. 
Oil – for frying

Method:
1.      Take besan in a bowl; add chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies, coriander leaves and all the masalas like chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, ajwain. Use water to prepare dosa like batter without any lumps.

2.      Put nonstick tawa on gas and spread the batter evenly in round shape like mini uttapas. In one go you can prepare minimum 5-6 chillas.
3.      While preparing chillas use oil for shallow frying and turn the chillas up and down till it is cooked.
4.  Serve hot the besan chillas with tomato ketchup (or) green chutney.
